Saint Leo University
A 111 Year-Old Florida Institution

Founded June 4, 1889, as the first Catholic College in Florida, Saint Leo University is located on 170 rolling acres on Lake Jovita - just north of Tampa, Florida. An independent Catholic teaching college of international consequence, Saint Leo is rooted in the founding philosophy of its Benedictine forefathers. It is built on a tradition of values addressing the blending of head and heart-mind and body-soul and spirit. For more than 100 years, this institution has found a way to bring those values to the world and to the education of future leaders.

Saint Leo University follows the Benedictine principle of taking education to those who seek it. For that purpose, the College has established 18 satellite campuses, and created agreements with community colleges. Saint Leo University is the nineteenth largest Catholic institution of higher education in the United States and the sixth largest provider of education to active military service members - serving more than 10,000 students nationwide.
