1. Must have an active passport.
2. Candidates for Dan and first kyu promotions are required to wear a red coloured identification sleeve on their obi during the testing cycle (prior to testing, as soon as your name is submitted). This is to be worn at all Yoshukai functions, including your home dojo (NO EXCEPTIONS).
3. Must pay the non-refundable testing fee

- 6 months between 2nd Kyu and 1st Kyu
- 1 year between 1st Kyu and Shodan
- The minimum time between Shodan and Sandan is 3 years. This will not be the normal rate of progression.
In order to pass from Shodan to Sandan this rapidly, the candidate must have a total score of 3.5 (Good) on their last test. If they do not meet the above requirement the minimum time between Shodan and Nidan and Nidan and Sandan is 2 years each.
Minimum 8 years in Dan rank along with Sensei Foster’s recommendation for Yondan.
Must meet all karate forms and techniques requirements. This includes Tai Ho Jitsu (please see page two). It is up to the instructor to have the proper testing requirements before testing his/her student.
